Andre Stewart has been named Chief Underwriting Officer for NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, the flagship of the NORCAL Group of companies, which includes, Medicus Insurance Company, FD Insurance Company and NORCAL Specialty Insurance Company (formerly PMSLIC).
“Andre is a proven leader, with deep industry expertise, and will continue to be instrumental in NORCAL’s continued growth and progress on becoming a unified national company,” Tim Friers, senior vice president and chief operating officer said.
Stewart joined NORCAL from The Doctors Company, where he served as Chief Underwriting Officer and President of TDC Specialty. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University and received his Masters of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Keller Graduate School.
Stewart joined NORCAL in 2015 as Senior Vice President of Underwriting for Custom Accounts, a newly-created function responsible for new business growth with a focus on multi-state and national accounts, program business, unique risks and integrated delivery systems. Stewart now expands his role to lead NORCAL’s underwriting teams for both standard and custom account business, including underwriting standards, operations and customer service.
