Scott Diener, president and chief executive officer of NORCAL Mutual Insurance Company, was voted on to the board of directors. Diener is the first officer of the company to serve in this capacity. His board position will be up for election by policyholders in 2017. The addition of Diener brings the board membership to 11 members.
“Scott is an exceptional leader who had the vision to bring the NORCAL Group of companies to a unified national brand and company,” Dr. Jaan Sidorov, chair of the NORCAL Mutual board of directors said. “He brings enormous value to the company and now brings that same leadership and perspective as a direct member of our Board.”
Diener joined the NORCAL Group in 2001 as president and chief operating officer of PMSLIC, a wholly owned subsidiary of NORCAL Mutual. He was promoted to chief operations officer of NORCAL Mutual, and then in 2011, took the helm as the company’s president. He is a 34-year veteran of medical professional liability industry and also serves as chair of the CEO/COO section for Physician Insurers Association of America (PIAA).
